The Naked Grouse First Fill Sherry Cask Whisky uses premium Spanish first-fill sherry casks for a minimum of 3 years of secondary maturation. Gordon Motion, the Master Blender of the Edrington Group, personally tastes each cask daily to ensure that every cask achieves optimal smoothness and quality before bottling.
This manual cask selection process is a rare and challenging skill that tests the senses and experience of the blender. However, Gordon Motion overcame all difficulties, successfully creating this extraordinary whisky, allowing the oak aroma to be fully and richly concentrated in the liquid.

The Naked Grouse is based on Edrington Group's premium single malt original spirits and aged in the most precious Spanish first-fill sherry casks to create a distinctly new flavor. This is not only an unprecedented innovative brewing method in the industry, but also arguably the most classic masterpiece of premium sherry cask whisky.
Unlike Bourbon and American oak casks, the rarity of Spanish sherry casks significantly increases costs. However, the aroma of oak casks gradually diminishes with repeated use. The Naked Grouse spares no expense, insisting on using only the most precious first fill of each Spanish sherry cask for aging, solely for that satisfying rich aroma and full-bodied taste.
