Talisker's famous 10 Year Old has got to be one of the most popular single malts around. A subtle aging regime highlights the unique character of the Isle of Skye distillery. There’s a dose of sherry here that comes from secondary maturation in American oak barrels seasoned with amoroso and, yes, you guessed it, heavily charred American oak ends. In case you didn't know, amoroso is a medium-sweet style, sort of like cream sherry.

Aroma: Salt sea spray, campfire and raisin-like sweetness.

Palate: Rich peaty flavors complemented by sticky dates, peppery spice and a touch of salt.

Finish: Dry oak and lingering smoke.
