Penfolds Bin 128 Coonawarra Shiraz hails from the renowned Coonawarra region in South Australia, famous for its unique terra rossa soil, an ideal terroir for growing Shiraz. Bin 128 is a flagship wine from Penfolds specifically designed to showcase cool-climate Shiraz, contrasting sharply with the warm-climate Bin 28.

This wine is made from 100% Shiraz and aged for approximately 12 months in French oak barrels (including new and old oak), balancing fruit flavors with oak layers. It has an alcohol content of around 14.5%, clear acidity, and an elegant yet substantial structure.

Aromatically, prominent fruit notes of blueberry, blackberry, mulberry, and black cherry are present, accompanied by black pepper, paprika, dried spices, and herbal nuances. Further complexity emerges with hints of pencil shavings, toasted bread, and subtle meaty notes. On the palate, fruit and spice integrate perfectly, with bright acidity and fine tannins, delivering a medium-bodied yet powerful taste.
