The distiller’s art is shrouded in mystery and magic. Dark secrets are hidden within, where merely marking the passage of time is not enough to lend it sufficient weight. Through these burdened hands, magnificent oak and unwavering principles are passed down. Fine art is complex and enigmatic, discovered only by those who see the stars.
The barley and casks used for Black Art remain a mystery. It is crafted by Head Distiller Adam Hannett, patiently matured on Islay for nearly three decades. Non-chill filtered, no added caramel coloring.

Aroma:
Warm and inviting. Bright fruit, fragrant toasted oak brings pralines, cedar, leather, and a hint of clove and nutmeg. Then comes the fruitiness of sweet apricot jam, ripe honeydew melon, dark cherries, and blackcurrants. With a subtle citrus note, lemon peel, and honey-soaked currants. Delicate floral notes of geranium and honeysuckle are balanced with a hint of iodine and leather.

Taste:
Barley sugar, nutty gingerbread, and lemon meringue pie, followed by sweet apricot jam and marzipan. Toasted oak brings smooth chocolate and vanilla, perfectly paired with syrupy fruits, raisins, plums, and melon. With candied fruit, raisins, plums, and honeydew melon. Over time, notes of iodine and a hint of coconut emerge, with warm ginger, cinnamon, and oak. A velvety texture that glides over the palate, with depth and balance.

Finish:
Smooth fudge gives a soft sensation to the finish, while ripe, soft fruit, subtle tobacco, and a hint of ginger linger.
