Bruichladdich Islay Barley is an award-winning, unpeated Islay single malt whisky made from 100% Islay-grown barley. The barley harvested in 2012 came from 7 farms on the island and was distilled in 2013. This is a whisky with traceable origins, evoking a true sense of terroir.
Aged for 8 years, 75% in first-fill American whiskey casks and 25% in refill French wine casks. Non-chill filtered, no added caramel coloring.

Aroma:
Delicate and light floral notes, smooth vanilla, and rich honey. A wonderful blend of kiwi, honeydew melon, coconut, ripe pear, and citrus aromas, bringing out the characteristics of Islay grain and slow distillation. Take a deep breath, and the spices from the French and American oak casks add a highlight to the fruity notes. The aromas of toffee and chocolate emanating from the oak casks lead you to wonderful depth and sweetness. Over time, notes of hay and crushed grains emerge, followed by a unique sea salt finish.

Taste:
The palate is delicate and complex, with flavors of fruit, grain, and oak. The distillery's signature: direct and unique floral and fruity notes. Smooth texture, flavors of porridge and rice pudding with malty notes, containing brown sugar and dried straw. Fruity notes of pear, honeydew melon, and orange are enveloped by the sweetness of toffee and fudge, perfectly integrated.

Finish:
The finish is a salty sea breeze, with notes of charred oak, sea salt caramel, and brown sugar. The texture of honeydew melon and cream takes you to another realm.
