Kavalan 15YO is a limited edition single malt whisky launched by Taiwan's Kavalan Distillery. It belongs to the "Time Exploration Series" and is the distillery's first age-statement whisky. Officially unveiled in early 2025, it commemorates a significant milestone for the brand as it transitions from an emerging distillery towards becoming a centennial one.

This whisky is a small-batch blend created from four different types of oak casks:

Bourbon Casks
Oloroso Sherry Casks
Ruby Port Casks
Puncheon Casks

Nosing
Upon first impression, there are sweet aromas of caramel apple and chocolate, gradually followed by notes of walnut, cinnamon roll, and corn pops. The mid-palate reveals a hint of dried tangerine peel and plum preserve fruitiness, finishing with the rich sweetness of toffee and dried black dates.

Palate: Smooth on the palate, with prominent sweetness of tropical fruits (like mango and pineapple) and vanilla notes from the Bourbon casks, intertwined with dried fruit and a touch of nuttiness from the Oloroso Sherry casks. The Ruby Port casks add a subtle berry sweetness and a gentle mouthfeel, with oak and spice lingering in the finish.

Finishing: Long, with lingering notes of toffee and oak, accompanied by a touch of dried fruit sweetness and subtle spiciness.
