KI NO BI Edition G

KI NO BI Edition G was first released in 2019. After it sold out instantly, many fans waited for the Kyoto Distillery to re-release it, but to no avail. Finally, this year, in celebration of the fifth anniversary of the credit card company LUXURY CARD, the Kyoto Distillery has once again collaborated with the French champagne brand Henri Giraud to re-release Edition G. If you want to try this extremely rare champagne cask gin, now is your chance!

Why is it so rare? Most champagne brands today have abandoned the traditional method of fermenting champagne in oak barrels, opting instead for stainless steel tanks. Only a few champagne brands still insist on fermenting champagne in traditional oak barrels, and Henri Giraud is one of them (another more familiar one is Krug). High-quality champagne barrels are already hard to come by, and when an elegant liquid like KI NO BI is aged in them, the resulting product becomes even more precious... Let's open a bottle and try it immediately!
Pouring the gin into a glass, the champagne-gold liquid already whets the appetite. The aroma carries the sweet fragrance of citrus peel. Upon tasting, the fundamental yuzu peel and lemon notes of KI NO BI are still present, while the juniper flavor is slightly milder. After a hint of subtle fruit acidity, waves of vanilla emerge, creating a very elegant effect. Perhaps due to barrel aging, the alcohol sensation is very low. After swallowing, a rich, sweet aroma of aged tangerine peel lingers in the glass, truly exquisite!
In addition to drinking it neat, the official recommendation is to use Edition G with Tonic or to prepare the Cocktail - French 75. I personally find this gin excellent on its own, but of course, if you want to try something new, using Edition G to make a cocktail is definitely a crisp and delicious choice.
Henri Giraud has been a family-run business for centuries. Its limited production means its products are mostly circulated among European nobility, without much public exposure. Wine critic Robert Parker once described it as an "unassuming top-tier champagne." Through Edition G, you can also discover this excellent champagne brand!
